The green lighting has driven me nuts in post-processing. Red is almost easier to deal with - at least it’s acceptable in B&W. Sadly, the singer, Carrin, was the one who was most photogenic (yeah, yeah, I’m a guy), and it was her the green lighting was on. C’est la vie.

I just heard that Jeff Healey has died of cancer at the age of 41 - it was cancer that blinded him when he was one. I’ve had the opportunity to see him play a couple of times, most recently in an old aircraft hangar during Stampede, and I can say that music has lost one of its unique talents.

On a sad pre-Christmas note, the incomparable Oscar Peterson has died at 82. Canadian music has lost one of its all-time greats, as has the jazz world. He was one of the greatest pianists ever to grace the keyboard.

Yes, it was cool to be able to listen to the entire new Foo Fighters album, streamed off MuchMusic (this Internet fad just keeps getting better and better), but what has really impressed me is the video for The Pretender. The Foos always make good videos, even great ones, and IMHO this new one falls into the latter category. I even bought it off iTunes, but I’d like to find a higher-res version of it.
The song is awesome, and the video drives that home visually. Thanks, superrockstar Dave!

Rocker Brian May gets doctorate 30 years late
Guitarist and songwriter Brian May has completed his doctorate in astrophysics — three decades after he put academia on hold to form the rock group Queen.
I wonder if the examiners were Queen fans.
